On Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at approximately 11:56AM, a serious motor vehicle accident was reported on Kensico Road at the intersection of warren Avenue, in Thornwood. 

 

The accident which is still under investigation occurred when the driver of a 2004 Nissan lost control of his vehicle while driving westbound on Kensico Rd.  The driver of the Nissan, who is 17 years old, lost control of his vehicle striking the center median causing the vehicle to flip over several times before striking a vehicle that was driving in the opposite direction.

 

The driver of the second vehicle who resides in Croton on Hudson was not injured.  His 2000 BMW sustained extensive damage when the Nissan flipped onto his car and then rolled over it. 

 

The 17 year old male driver was ejected from his car and was found lying on Kensico Rd. by responding patrol officers.  The seriously injured teenager was rushed to the Westchester Medical Center in serious condition.  The driver of the Nissan was sited on the accident report for driving at an excessive speed.
