Project Child Safe

Project ChildSafe is a nationwide program whose purpose is to promote safe firearms handling and storage practices among all firearms owners through the distribution of key safety education messages and free gun locking devices (firearms safety kits). The program is supported by a U.S. Department of Justice grant, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, and is a component of Project Safe Neighborhoods.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department has gun locks that will fit all types and sizes of firearms.  Any gun owner will be provided with a FREE gun lock upon their request.

To request your free gun lock, please contact one of the department's certified firearms instructors by calling police headquarters at 914-769-1941.
